NOTES:
[1]  These two unconnected branches of the family seated at Walcot, Shropshire, are cited in the 1623 Visitation of Shropshire and it is not known how they were related, but all versions of the family pedigree say Jane was a sole heiress so it can be assumed the Sir John who begins the family of the right above was neither the same man as the first listed Sir John, nor his son.
[2]  The pedigree inserts another John as son of Thomas and father of the John of c. 1385, but says Thomas was living in 1406 and his "grandson" John was living in 1416.  We suspect Thomas had a brother named John who may have been the father of the c. 1385 John.
[3] Although Margaret Plowden was a member of the same family who killed a William Walcot of Walcot less than 50 years before this marriage, the John Walcot of c. 1480 apparently harbored no ill-will toward them
